1.   What is happening  in the pictures is that the first person passes the message     'empower' which it to be conveyed from one person to the other. by the time it reaches the last person the message is different.     Last person say what he has heard which is 'Kenya power'.

2. I once conveyed the wrong message as a child when I  was sent to buy salt but told the shopkeeper  sugar instead. we had to contend with saltless food because it was already late to go back to the shop.

3. Communication destroys relationships - when we send negative messages or say negative  things to people, when there is delay in communication or when we choose wrong channels of communication

It enhances relationships when we communicate positively, choose the write channels, send clear messages and do it t the right time.

Language barrier can course distortion of information. The interpretation of words vary from one community  the other.

Breakdown in  communication can cause conflicts. It can happen because of  language barrier bad attitudes wrong timing poor communication skills 

It can be avoided by learning proper communication skills and seeking clarification if it wasn't clear enough 

An experience I had on breakdown of communication: on the onset of covid-19 just before  lockdown, my elderly father got seriously sick. Almost at the same time, my cousin who works in Nairobi had come to the village. I just commented that dad's sickness must be anxiety due to corona virus. One of the relatives went and reported to my cousin that i had said he has brought Corona from the city that's why dad was sick. He was so annoyed and didn't visit our home for the entire period he was home. we later patched up when I learnt of the misreporting.

Causes of msg distortion could be poor listening skill thus not getting the whole msg, others could be due to malice, a chain of messengers or background noise.

to reduce this could be by using a language that is understood by all, being clear while communicating and if possible repeating for clarity.

I was giving a vote of thanks after a seminar on incest,I had done so well but as I pronounced incest,I put it as insect.Members fell in loughter,but it was already done_even after I corrected they still laughed.causes of poor communication is caused by poor preparation before communicating to people, anxiety, poor listening,talking in a hurry,and seeking clarification. The one receiving information needs to seek clarification,like..'i hear you you say.....' so that if it is not the case ,one gets to the right framework.
